I had been to Velliangiri Hills which is around 37 Kms from Coimbatore, Tamilnadu. Situated at a height of around 6000 ft. the Velliangiri Hills is a beautiful and adventurous trek. One can finish the uphill climb in about six hours time. Totally there are seven hills. The fifth hill is a plain walk. Seventh hill is very slippery and it is a difficult task if you are struck in rain. Most of the trek is in covered forest. You have two to three water spots for refilling your water bottles. At the fifth mountain you come across a pond of water which is very cold. As per the locals even during summer the water is as chill as in winter.
